Facial Fracture Treatment in Downers Grove, IL*

This is a 20 year-old male who was struck in the left eye and sustained a left orbital floor fracture. The patient demonstrated enopthalmos on exam and did report some double vision. He had open treatment of the left orbital floor fracture under general anesthesia with the use of an absorbable, polylactic acid orbital floor plate. This was placed via a left transconjunctival incision. The patient tolerated the procedure well and had resolution of the enopthalmos and double vision after the procedure.
