Minimally invasive treatment of man boobs with local in Downers Grove, IL*

This 50 year-old male presented to the office with a long standing history of gynecomastia (male breasts) since he was a teenager. He said it has bothered him since then. We recommended excision of the gynecomastia under local (tumescent) anesthesia using minimally invasive technique that involves no incisions on the chest. A 5 mm incision was made below the axilla and local anesthetic was injected to the chest area. We started with liposuction using a power-assisted liposuction machine followed by excision of the breast tissue using special instrumentation. The patient wore a compression garment for 4 weeks after the surgery. At 6 weeks, he was completely recovered.
